Oh Dear

oh. my. gosh. i have been wanting to go to a brandi carlile concert since the minute i downloaded her free itunes single of the week 3 years ago. every time she came to the south i was in freakin mexico or at 1 of the million weddings i've attended since college. this weekend, i got to go! it was incredible. she walked out on stage with her whole band gathered around 1 single microphone and with a short breath, out came that amazing voice. i'm so jealous of the ease with which she sings. i took way too many pictures, and a few videos too. she sounds about a million times better live than on any cd player. my sweet sister had been the 1st to tell me she was coming to Workplay in Birmingham, so she accompanied me, along with the 2 Emilys- Fridrichsen and Sparks- and 1 Jonas :) he was a trooper to be there, especially considering the opening act was 1\2 of the gay indie band Indigo Girls. molly was cracking me up with her wide-eyed people watching. i guess living in atlanta has made me more apt to not notice things like that, or at least not really care. i was too focused on the stage. it was the best concert i've ever been to. i think my favorite part was when she talked about her love for Kings Of Leon, but that her mother had discovered them before her. She said her mom left her a voicemail 1 night requesting that brandi get her "the cd of that band that sings that song, you know, yyyooouuuu your sex is on fiiiirreee" and she held out the note real long, b/c her mom is a twangy country singer! top 3 things you never want to hear your mother say!

It was awesome. if i were rich, i'd go see her tour out west, buuuuut i'm not.

Here are some pics, and also video of my absolute favorite- "Dying Day"- which i would listen to alot when i was in mexico homesick for tennessee.....
