A Little Perspective....1 Year Later

What a difference a year makes! So, I was asking the always insightful Katie Bondurant what I should blog about after such a long period of being absent from it. She said I should write about where I am now compared to where I was 1 year ago. Really, there is no comparison. 1 year ago on September 1st, I was riding a bus with Brenda and Ashley Ray headed for Mexico...and when I say Mexico, I'm not talking about a place like Cancun or Cabo. I'm talking about the middle of nowhere, can't find it on Google Earth Mexico! Most everybody who reads this knows about my life down there, so I'll spare all the details and crappin in a hole and eating chicken talon soup! But, basically, my time spent in Mexico was the most thought-provoking, wonderful, scary, spiritual experience of my life. I have come back with a whole new perspective on everything in my life. I just look at things differently now. God taught me so much about Him, about myself, and about my relationship with Him. I take Mexico with me everywhere I go, and I will never ever forget what I learned and who I met there.
So, now, as I sit in the living room of Katie's apartment in Atlanta, I realize how much my life has changed in just 1 short year. I've gone from living in Mexico teaching class, doing dishes, going to Bible studies to living in Atlanta, Ga working at an ad agency, sitting behind a desk 5 days a week, and completing the definition of what America calls a "grown-up." I mean, I don't think these 2 periods of my life could be any more different! My life has changed so dramatically over this past year, and usually this big, huge, scary change of moving to Atlanta and having a new big-girl job would be way too much for me to handle. But after living in Mexico by myself for so long, I know now that I can handle it because I know that God is with me...so I have nothing to worry about!
